📌 Indications:

Nindanix (Nintedanib) is indicated for the treatment of:

• Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) – to slow the rate of lung function decline.

• Systemic Sclerosis–Associated Interstitial Lung Disease (SSc-ILD) – to reduce disease progression.

• Chronic Fibrosing Interstitial Lung Diseases with a Progressive Phenotype.

• Advanced Non–Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) – in combination with docetaxel, after first-line chemotherapy.

💊 Pharmacology:

Nintedanib is a triple angiokinase inhibitor that targets and blocks:

• Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptors (VEGFR 1–3)

• Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptors (FGFR 1–3)

• Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Receptors (PDGFR α & β)

By inhibiting these pathways, it reduces fibroblast activity, abnormal tissue scarring, and tumor angiogenesis. In cancer, it restricts the tumor's blood supply, slowing growth and spread.

💉 Dosage & Administration:

• Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis & ILD: 150 mg twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart (dose may be reduced to 100 mg twice daily if not tolerated).

• Advanced NSCLC: 200 mg twice daily with docetaxel.

• Take with food and swallow whole with water.

• Dose adjustment may be required for hepatic impairment or side effects.

⚠️ Precautions & Warnings:

• Liver function tests should be monitored before and during treatment.

• Risk of bleeding – use with caution in patients on anticoagulants.

• May cause gastrointestinal effects such as diarrhea – ensure adequate hydration.

• Use caution in patients with cardiovascular risk factors.

• Avoid use in severe hepatic impairment.

❌ Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to Nintedanib or excipients.

• Severe liver disease (Child-Pugh C).

• May cause fetal harm — effective contraception required during and at least 3 months after treatment.
