Apalunix is used in combination with gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analog therapy or following surgical castration.
π Pharmacology:
Apalutamide is a non-steroidal androgen receptor inhibitor. It binds directly to the ligand-binding domain of the androgen receptor (AR), inhibiting its activity. By blocking AR-mediated signaling pathways, it prevents cancer cell growth and proliferation in androgen-sensitive prostate cancer.
Compared to earlier AR inhibitors, Apalutamide shows stronger receptor binding and reduced stimulation of mutant AR, offering a more targeted and effective approach in delaying disease progression.
