Abemaxen (Abemaciclib 150 mg) is indicated for the treatment of:

Hormone receptor (HR)-positive, HER2-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer

Used in combination with endocrine therapy (aromatase inhibitors or fulvestrant)

May also be used as monotherapy in patients with disease progression following endocrine therapy and chemotherapy
It is prescribed under the guidance of an experienced oncologist.
💊 Pharmacology:
Abemaciclib is a selective cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) 4 and CDK 6 inhibitor.
Mechanism of action:

Inhibits CDK4/6 activity

Prevents phosphorylation of retinoblastoma (Rb) protein

Causes cell cycle arrest at the G1 phase

Reduces proliferation of cancer cells in HR-positive breast cancer
Compared to other CDK inhibitors, Abemaciclib has continuous dosing and strong activity against tumor growth.
💉 Dosage & Administration:

Recommended dose: 150 mg twice daily

May be taken with or without food

Tablets should be swallowed whole with water

Continue treatment until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity

Dose adjustments may be required based on tolerability and adverse effects
Treatment must be initiated and supervised by an oncology specialist.
